Transforming problems into peace in Kadampa Buddhism involves shifting your perspective from external challenges to internal responses, using compassion and wisdom to transform negativity into positive states like love and acceptance, recognizing that true peace comes from changing the mind, not the situation, and developing mental flexibility to see problems as opportunities for spiritual growth.
Instead of getting irritated or depressed when problems arise, we can use difficult situations to develop inner strength, improve our experience of life and be of benefit to others.

Guaranteed to leave you feeling refreshed, centered, and equipped to bring peace and contentment back into your everyday life.
What is Retreat?
"On retreat we stop all forms of business and extraneous activities so as to emphasize a particular spiritual practice. There are three kinds of retreat: physical, verbal and mental. We engage in physical retreat when, with a spiritual motivation, we isolate ourself from other people, activities and noise, and disengage from extraneous and meaningless actions. We engage in verbal retreat when, with a spiritual motivation, we refrain from meaningless talk and periodically keep silence. We engage in mental retreat by preventing distractions and strong delusions such as attachment, anger, jealousy and strong self-grasping from arising, and by maintaining mindfulness and conscientiousness... From the book 'Heart Jewel' by Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

SATURDAY, MARCH 7
Seminar | 'Living Life Like An Actor'
What if the secret to inner peace lay not in perfecting the roles you play—parent, professional, partner, friend—but in recognizing that you are fundamentally none of these things? Drawing from the profound teachings on emptiness found in Modern Buddhism, this seminar offers a revolutionary yet practical approach to daily life: learning to live like an actor on the stage of existence.
Just as a skilled actor inhabits a character fully while never forgetting their true nature, we can engage wholeheartedly with our responsibilities and relationships while maintaining the freedom that comes from not clinging to these temporary identities. This is not about detachment or diminished caring—it’s about discovering a lightness and flexibility that allows us to play each role with greater skill, compassion, and joy. The Buddha taught that our suffering stems largely from grasping at a solid, permanent self that doesn’t actually exist. When we believe “I am” our job title, our achievements, our failures, or our fixed personality traits, we trap ourselves in a prison of our own making. But there’s wonderful news: this prison has no walls except the ones we imagine.
In this seminar, you’ll discover how the ancient wisdom of emptiness translates into immediate, tangible freedom in your modern life. You’ll learn to recognize when you’re over-identifying with a role, how to step back without stepping out, and how to maintain genuine presence while holding your identities lightly—appearing clearly in the world whilst understanding that the “you” performing these roles is more fluid and spacious than you ever imagined.
