Menlha Study Programs
FOUNDATION & TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

In-depth study programs for busy, modern people.

The Foundation & Teacher Training Programs give the opportunity to engage in a structured study and meditation program on the essential teachings of the Buddhist spiritual path right here in Lambertville, NJ.

Through regular teachings and meditation, systematic study, and group discussion, the Foundation Program (FP) & Teacher Training Program (TTP) offers the same training followed by spiritual practitioners in an unbroken lineage dating back to Buddha Shakyamuni. In this way we can gain authentic experience of the Dharma while still maintaining our contemporary lifestyle.

By studying on these programs we shall gain great confidence in meditation – from basic techniques for overcoming our everyday problems to practices leading to unsurpassed happiness and permanent inner peace. Warm friendships develop as students inspire each other, sharing insights and experiences of the spiritual path.

"THE ACTUAL FUNCTION OF A DHARMA CENTER IS TO GIVE TEACHINGS TO THE PEOPLE OF THE AREA AND BY SHARING WITH THEM OUR EXPERIENCE OF DHARMA, TO HELP THEM TO SOLVE THEIR DAILY PROBLEMS."

— from the book The New Meditation Handbook by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

In this in-depth study program we will be studying the book The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

This inspiring book explains how to meditate on eight beautiful verses that comprise one of Buddhism's best-loved teachings, 'Eight Verses of Training the Mind', which has inspired generations of Buddhist practitioners for almost a thousand years.

Composed by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Geshe Langri Tangpa, this short poem shows how we can transform all life's difficulties into valuable spiritual insights.
